Affiliate Disclosure

How we make money, who we work with, and how it affects (or doesn’t affect) our editorial opinions.

The Short Version

Some links on True North Money are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up for a product, we may receive a commission from the company — at no extra cost to you. We only link to products we’d genuinely recommend to a friend.

Our reviews and rankings are based on research, real product features, and value to Canadians — not on who pays us the most. We will always tell you when a product doesn’t make sense for most people, even if we have an affiliate relationship with it.

Current Affiliate Relationships

As of 2026, True North Money may earn commissions from the following companies when you sign up through our links:

Company Product Type Our Link
Wealthsimple Investing, TFSA, RRSP, Cash account truenorthmoney.ca/go/wealthsimple
Questrade Self-directed investing, RESP truenorthmoney.ca/go/questrade
EQ Bank High-interest savings, GICs truenorthmoney.ca/go/eq-bank
Neo Financial Neo Money card, savings truenorthmoney.ca/go/neo
KOHO Prepaid Visa, spending/savings truenorthmoney.ca/go/koho
NerdWallet Canada Financial product comparison truenorthmoney.ca/go/nerdwallet

This list is updated when new affiliate relationships are established. We do not maintain affiliate relationships with every company we review — many articles recommend products we receive no compensation for.

What This Means for You

Our reviews don’t change based on affiliate status. We review products on their merits: fees, features, interest rates, and who they’re actually right for. If we have an affiliate relationship with a product we think is genuinely inferior to a competitor, we’ll say so.

You never pay more through our links. Affiliate commissions come from the company, not from you. The rates, fees, and terms of any product are identical whether you find it through us or go directly to the company’s website.

We disclose at the article level too. Any article that contains affiliate links includes a disclosure box at the top of the page. You’ll never have to wonder whether an article contains affiliate links — it will tell you.
